Significant cycles ahead

Planetary cycles wax and wane. This is most obvious to us when we observe the Moon. At new Moon, the Sun and Moon are conjunct. When the Moon opposes the Sun, we observe a full Moon. The period from new moon to full moon is known as a waxing cycle and then after full moon, the cycle wanes.

This phenomenon of waxing and waning is not only limited to the sun and moon but all other planets. Waxing cycles are regarded as building and waning diminishing.

Planetary cycles vary in length. Pluto 248 years, Neptune 164 years, Uranus 84 years, Saturn 28 years and Jupiter 12 years. The Pluto and Neptune cycles are very long. We see their significance in history. The only cycles we will live through are the Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter cycles.

We are witnessing some significant cycles beginning between these outer planets.

A very significant cycle started in 1965 with Pluto conjunct Uranus. This cycle is very long, 140 years and starts waning in 2046.

In 2020 we experienced the start of Pluto conjunct Saturn (33 years) and Pluto conjunct Jupiter cycles (13 years).

In 2022 the Neptune conjunct Jupiter cycle (13 years) started again.

In the next few years, a number of other cycles are due to start again.

• Uranus conjunct Jupiter starts again in 2024 (13 years)

• Neptune conjunct Saturn starts in 2026 (37 years).

• Uranus conjunct Saturn starts again in 2032 (44 years).

In addition, we have the outer planets changing signs.

• Pluto moves into Aquarius in 2023 and stays in this sign until 2044. Pluto was previously in this sign between 1777 and 1798. The United States Declaration of Independence was on 4 July 1776. The US is currently experiencing its Pluto Return.

• Neptune moves into Aries in 2025 and stays in this sign until 2039. Neptune was last in this sign between 1861 and 1875.

• Uranus moves into Gemini in 2025 and stays in this sign until 2033. Uranus was last in Gemini between 1941 and 1949 – WW2.

These are yet more indications of the immense pressure for societal change in the years ahead. This is no time to be complacent. Things certainly do need to change across society on so many levels. We need to remind ourselves that we are entering a period of building as these cycles wax before waning.

Scorpio 2023 year ahead

Your focus is your career, relationship and your home and family. You are bothered by your direction in life and your situation at home. Some aspects are positive while others are causing some discomfort personally. Understand your value system and then make decisions based on that.

Do you and your partner want children? You are in a strong place personally and seem ready to take on that responsibility. You may have delayed falling pregnant, but it seems like you are now ready. This is a good time to focus your energy on your children and what you desire.

Home and family life looks like there may be significant changes. Perhaps time to move or relocate? What changes that you least expect?

It looks like you really want to travel again. Perhaps connected to seeing a sibling far away. Perhaps your work takes you places.

Total Lunar Eclipse 8 Nov 2022 Cape Town

Moon opposed Sun 16 Taurus/Scorpio

This eclipse is concerned about the home/family and career/business aspect of the chart. It is total and therefore powerful although it is not visible in Cape Town. Eclipses are always more powerful where they are total on earth geographically.

But what makes this eclipse even more powerful is the connection with Uranus and the Moon. Uranus is very unpredictable and creates unexpected shocks.

The Sun connects with partnerships and business. Mercury finds itself combust the Sun in the place of shared resources/inheritance. Venus is also connected to Sun and rules family and business matters and perhaps pregnancy too. What changes unexpectedly?

Are you pregnant? Do you unexpectedly have a miscarriage? What changes in your family situation and or with regards your home? This is described as something that is difficult to plan for as it is unexpected.

The Moon connects to work and well-being. Does something change in that regard? This stressful opposition of Moon/Sun is also square Saturn in 12th house. This is the place of hospitals and secrets.

This is bound to be a time of unexpected crisis. It is a volatile and unpredictable eclipse.

This eclipse belongs to the Saros Series 6 South. It is noted that this series is about being forceful and taking power. It has manic tendencies and speaks about great force or strength connecting to relationships. Falling in or out of love or sudden sexual encounters. It may speak about a huge effort exerted in a group activity.

William Lilly spoke about eclipses in these degrees pointing to the death of a queen and also a barrenness of the earth and a scarcity of seeds that are usually sown. This is a reference to droughts and not being able to plant.

So many retrograde planets

It’s hard to move forward with so many retrograde planets currently.

Mercury (13 days ago) and Pluto (7 days ago) have recently changed directions and are no longer retrograde. But Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune remain retrograde. Saturn will change direction in 8 days but Mars will retrograde in 15 days. We seem to need to revaluate everything currently.

Mars has been moving through the dual sign of Gemini between Aug 2022 and March 2023. This is an indication that we are not certain where to focus our energy. And then with the Neptune aspect to Mars being active for the better part of this year this is creating extra confusion and a lack of trust. Where do we need to apply our energy at this time? And then with Mars traveling retrograde again this isn’t going to help matters. Neptune speaks about illusions and deception.

Mars square Neptune

Enters 5 Jan 2022 and leaves on 24 March 2023  – exact on 11 Jan, 12 Oct and 19 Nov 2022 and again on 15 March 2023.

Mars will retrograde over the degrees of 23 to 25 Gemini and Neptune at 23 Pisces. If you have key planets in your chart at these degrees you will no doubt feel their impact.

The charts of the US and Iran have planets at these degrees.
