Iran

Certainly lots of pressure on Iran and its leadership as Mars and Saturn move towards the Sun.

Conflict Iran and Middle East

As Sun moves into Aries on 20 March 2026 and forms a conjunction with Saturn and Neptune on Descendant of Teheran chart this becomes a focal point on the angles. As you can see on the map this highlights conflict in Middle East.

Saturn speaks about limitations and blockades. Neptune is associated with oil, gas, shipping and the oceans. It is also associated with naval ships and insurance. This has become a massive problem not only for the Middle East but the world as energy production and trade is disrupted.

Shipping companies require insurance to move oil and gas. With the current situation no insurers are prepared to take a chance. The threat of missiles and drones is ever present and there is a lack of trust in the system. Trade has collapsed. The Strait of Hormuz is a key point for the movement of oil and gas from multiple countries in the Gulf region.

Aries is impulsive and action oriented. Saturn is something different. It speaks about consequences and limitations. Saturn does like speed and haste.

The US and Israel perhaps expected Operation Epic Fury to be resolved in days. Iran responded by disrupting shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and attacking energy infrastructure across the Gulf. The threat of inexpensive drone strikes was enough to make insurers and shipping companies reconsider the risk. Once the insurance industry pulled back, a closure became self enforcing. The strait didn’t need to be closed militarily.

With Saturn and Neptune conjunct on 0 Aries and 20 February 2026 there was certainly an indication that the impact will be felt across the globe. This point is the World Axis.

There is much distrust everywhere. The US has called on UK and Europe for support and the response has been a No. After being abused by Trump around trade and tariffs and much bluster about US not wanting to be part of global bodies – Saturn speaks about consequences to actions. A significant realignment of the global order in unfolding.

Mars the ruler of Aries will move into this sign on 9 April 2026. It will connect with Neptune on 13 April and Saturn on 19 April 2026. Mars is the aggressor and associated with war and conflict. These will be important dates to watch.

Aries year ahead

The big focus in this chart is financial especially connected to shared or joint resources. This is not a straight forward time financially. Money could be disappearing faster than you would like. As fast as it comes in it seems to disappear. It would be good to take stock of your financial situation jointly and cut out unnecessary expenses. Look at your resources in terms of what you value. Nice to have versus essential?

This is certainly causing some stress and tension in your relationship. Your work is challenging and something needs to shift. You might not have control over what transpires. It may be necessary to make a change – what career opportunities should you consider? Time to focus on health and well-being too.

Your partner’s work looks good with growth and opportunity. Would your partner be able to support you financially if something changed?

What about the your relationship dynamics? Is this a relationship that you remain committed to?

New Moon – 19 March 2026

This New Moon in Pisces demonstrates some softness. Empathy. Connection. All is one. We are not separate. We are all part of one consciousness.

A few days later the Sun moves into Aries. This is the start of the astrological year. With Sun and Moon in impulsive Aries together with Saturn, Neptune and Venus we should expect things to move quickly. What action do leaders take? How do ordinary people respond? This is not an easy time when we think about relationships. What about the value of money and currency? When will we see accountability especially from those in positions of authority and influence?

Neptune is very much connected to oil, gas, oceans, the navy and insurance industry. These are incredibly difficult times with conflicts in multiple countries. The real issue is oil and conflict in Middle East and the impact globally. Neptune is also connected to inflation.

Mercury changes direction on 20 March 2026. Will we have a better understanding of the complicated situations? Some difficult conversations are necessary. These conversations might be more difficult with strong beliefs. Is anyone prepared to listen?

Accountability

“In July and August of 2018 – eight years ago – Kyle Cowan started pulling at a thread. It was a couple of months after Cyril Ramaphosa ousted Jacob Zuma as head of state, and the new president had started to try and clean house. He’d announced a couple of commissions of inquiry – the Nugent commission into SARS and the high-level investigation into the SSA had been confirmed – and in an era of post-state capture there certainly was an air of optimism.

Late August, the Zondo commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture sat for the first time, and in his opening statement, Advocate Paul Pretorius spoke about the relationship between the state, the citizenry and the importance of accountability. “The essence of representative government is that the elected government act in the interests of those that it governs. Essential to that relationship is that officials can be held accountable when they fail to act according to this obligation and in particular, they can be called to account if they act fraudulently and corruptly.”

Three weeks after Pretorius said those words, Cowan was ready to publish. He had enough information that proved Vincent Smith, an ANC MP and chairperson of Parliament’s portfolio committee on correctional services, was bent. Smith took money from a company called Bosasa. And Bosasa received contracts of billions of rand from the Department of Correctional Services.

Vincent Smith got cash, CCTV

Why is this a problem? Smith was responsible for the committee in Parliament that oversaw the country’s prisons, which ensured that public money was spent honestly and efficiently. Bosasa was a business whose success depended on contracts to supply the country’s prisons with goods and services. Bribing Smith would go a long way to ensure the continued health of the company – and its leaders.

So, Smith succumbed. And he took hundreds of thousands of dirty money.

When Kyle confronted him with the evidence, he lied. He told Kyle it wasn’t true.

We published the story, told the country that he was bought and paid for, and that set in motion a train of events that culminated this week in Smith being sent to jail.

REPORTING NOTES | Smith goes down – now Mantashe must face the same Bosasa music

The slow grind of the criminal justice system is frustrating for everyone. It is particularly frustrating for us, who wrote about the corruption and malfeasance perpetrated by people like Smith almost a decade ago.

But Smith’s conviction is a major milestone on the journey to shape a country where the rule of law is supreme and accountability is the norm. Since writing his first expose about Smith all those years ago, Kyle has gone on to break some of the most important investigative stories in the post-state capture era. And he’s won the famed Taco Kuiper Award for investigative journalism twice. Alongside his colleague Jeff Wicks, he won the Nat Nakasa Award for Bravery in Journalism.” NEWS 24

Interesting that it has taken so much time for justice to be served. This is what accountability looks like – Saturn in Aries – consequences to actions. This is first State Capture individual in orange overalls. Nowhere to hide. Moon in Libra – the scales of justice. Ordinary people can see justice being done.

Total lunar eclipse

Such confusing times. So much going on. This eclipse in Virgo/Pisces with a retrograde ruler Mercury in detriment and fall. Will we ever know the truth? Lots of misinformation and distrust.

William Lily spoke about calamities against lawyers for their oppression and bribery or indirect dealings.

This eclipse is part of Saros Series 10 North. The focus is communication – certain setbacks and frustrations. Good to take things easy and work through things one at a time. It’s a draining process.

Trump Tariffs

Trump imposed tariffs last year in April 2025 when Mercury was retrograde.

The US Supreme Court ruled on 20 February 2026 that these were unconstitutional as Saturn and Neptune were exactly conjunct.

A few hours after the court’s decision, Trump announced across-the-board tariffs of 10 percent, and the next day boosted those to 15 percent—their maximum level. They expire after 150 days unless extended by Congress.

Mercury is currently retrograde again – starting on 26 February until 20 March 2026.

Soviet Union

This Mars Uranus square is engaged in the charts connected to collapse of Soviet Union and communism. At that time in 1991 Mercury, Jupiter and Venus were all in Leo. Mars is currently opposite and Uranus square these planets. Venus and Jupiter associated with trade and currency. Economic matters. Mercury connected to communication and transactions. It would appear there is pressure building.

Israel

Mars square Uranus connected to Mars in chart of Israel. Lots of tension between Parliament, youth and the economy. What shifts?

Trump

The Mars Uranus square tomorrow is right on the angles of Trump chart. This is very potent. This is a volatile situation. Aggressive and forceful. Unpredictable and chaotic. A big US military presence in Middle East. How does Trump respond?
