This New Moon at 25 Taurus conjunct the fixed star Algol opposes the Ramaphosa Sun and Moon. This is a complex New Moon. The Moon is exalted in Taurus and yet also out of bounds. This makes it more unpredictable. This New Moon is conjunct the Fixed Star Algol adding difficulty. This star is associated with losing one’s head and is often connected to the fall of leaders. Ramaphosa has indicated he will take this case on review. The Constitutional Court ruled that Parliament must set up a committee to deliberate the Independent Report. Parliament failed to do this at the time. Things have changed significantly in Parliament since this issue first arose in 2022. The ANC no longer holds a majority. Ramaphosa certainly fighting for his political future. New Moons are always seen as seed points. What emerges in the future?

Constitutional court has ruled that a Section 89 report that found Ramaphosa has a case to answer must be aired before an impeachment committee in Parliament. The previous process was declared unconstitutional.
This has been a long time in the making. The farm break in happened on 9 Feb 2020 when a large amount of US dollars was stolen from a sofa. Independent report finds Ramaphosa has a case to answer on 30 November 2022. National Assembly blocks impeachment inquiry on 6 December 2022. The ANC used their majority in Parliament to suppress this process. They no longer have a majority.
Public Protector clears Ramaphosa on 30 June 2023. So too SARS on 21 Aug 2023.
EFF files papers in Constitutional Court on 8 Feb 2024. NPA drops charges on 1 Oct 2024. Constitutional Court hears EFF and ATM challenge on 26 Nov 2024. Uranus opposed Sun and Moon between June 2024 and April 2025. Personal and legal crisis for Ramaphosa.
EFF marches to demand release of delayed Constitutional Court judgement on 28 November 2025.
Constitutional Court declares process unconstitutional and refers process back to Parliament for Ramaphosa to answer to impeachment committee on 8 May 2026. Mars opposition to Saturn and Neptune. There is a case to answer for funds. Saturn will oppose Saturn and Neptune and square Mars between May 2027 and March 2028. Saturn in Aries demands accountability.
Will this be the time when we have resolution to this issue related to stolen funds and how President Ramaphosa came to have US dollars in his sofa?
Pluto speaks about letting go and surrendering to things out of your control. This too will apply to South Africa. We will need to adapt to a changing world order. Just like in 1989 with Saturn Neptune conjunction when the Apartheid government needed to pivot with the collapse of communism and the Soviet Union.
Saturn is now conjunct Mars in 3rd house – neighbours and communications. We are experiencing many more marches in SA about undocumented migrants. These are hostile.
How will South Africa respond to a changing world order? Time will tell. Who will be our partners and how will we benefit from these relationships? What are the financial implications? What changes in terms of policies connected to land, agriculture and mining?
The South Africa democracy chart of 27 April 1994 has an 9 degree Aquarius Asc. Pluto moved into Aquarius in Nov 2024 and leaves this sign in 20 years around Sep 2043.

Pluto indicates decay. It describes embedded corruption that will ultimately lead to the collapse of the country and the government unless we change. It is no secret that things are desperate in South Africa. The level of corruption across all sectors of government – national, provincial and local government and the private sector is at levels that are unsustainable. The amount of money wasted and stolen is jaw-dropping for a country with so much to fix. We have seen our fair share of commissions of enquiry across sectors and there is no debating that things are bad. It is plain to see for all South Africans. The State Capture years under Zuma are referred to as 9 wasted years. This is tragic. Pluto has arrived to indicate that it can no longer be tolerated. Our young democracy will not survive without major structural change. There is no accountability and no trust in government institutions. The ANC lost their majority in the 2024 national elections and we now have a Government of National Unity. There are too may rats and mice parties that complicate coalitional arrangements and make them unworkable. Lots of parties associated with strong egos. We need to remember our greatest asset is our Constitution. It is certainly worth fighting to protect. Civil society groups are doing excellent work to hold those individuals in positions of authority accountable.
It is not going to be an easy 5 years ahead. But change is necessary and the time is now. We need to save our country and our constitutional democracy. It starts with each individual. Crime and corruption start in families – in the home. These are individuals who are someone’s father/mother/brother/sister/cousin. We have very important local government elections on 4 Nov 2026 and it is the decay and corruption at municipal level that really impacts people’s everyday experience. It goes without saying that these elections and the national elections in 2029 will be hugely significant.
Pluto stations retrograde on 6 May square Mercury in Taurus. Time for cool heads? Is anyone able to fundamentally change their position?
Moon in Capricorn in detriment – ordinary people are discombobulated. With Moon square Saturn and Neptune there is a sense of disillusionment and despair. This Moon is also out of bounds adding to the intensity of this time. The Moon is also conjunct fixed star – Facies. This is a particularly difficult time for ordinary people.
The Jupiter Mars square is also still active – religious wars. This can be a time of righteous anger. Might is right. Fundamentalist rage.
US will celebrate the 250th year since Independence on 4 July 2026.
The US had a Pluto return in 2022. They are due to have a Uranus return between Jul 2027 and May 2028. This is a time of profound change in the US. Pluto in 2nd house is about the economy, debt and taxation. US debt is now 100% of GDP. These levels are unsustainable and rely on the dominance of the petrodollar. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has placed immense pressures on trade and energy supplies across the world with soaring oil prices.
On 4 July Mars will conjunct Uranus. This is an extremely volatile and unpredictable period. It can indicate a great shock. On the 7th cusp of US chart, the focus is enemies. This Mars Uranus line runs through Saudi Arabia and Iran. A crisis is brewing in this conflict in the Middle East and Russia.

Conjunct Uranus – March 2026 – bomb shells blow things up – crisis that was hidden bursts into the open. Problems in criminal justice system much bigger than anticipated.
Square Mercury – Aug 2026 – big focus on opposition and youth. Time for change.
Square MC – Nov 2026 – focus shifts to leadership and direction of government – what needs to change?
Square Sun – Dec 2026 – leadership and opposition. Time for change.
Square Jupiter – March 2027 – time to focus on government, parliament, treasure and economy – new opportunities.
When progressed Moon connects with Asc in Feb 2027 – this shows ordinary people need to step up and defend our young democracy.
