I am an astrologer practising traditional astrology in Cape Town. I specialise in birth chart readings. I am passionate about people’s stories and their life’s journey. It is very empowering for a client to understand and accept their life story.
I am also fascinated by world events and the links to the planetary cycles. It is this notion of history repeating itself that fascinates me.
This eclipse is all about work and everyday wellbeing. How is this connected to your relationship and your personal and joint financial responsibilities? There is tension financially. What is enough? You are frustrated and financially things are constrained. What is necessary and what can be sacrificed? It is important to look at your joint resources and how money is deployed towards home and family. Are you needing to move? What changes for your partner professionally? Focus on your shared values and find a better way to use the resources you have jointly.
This Partial Lunar Eclipse is all about relationships and resources and feeling valued and understood. You are looking for growth and opportunities personally and professionally. Once again the importance of financial matters is highlighted with tension related to financial limitations and responsibilities. It may be necessary to make certain financial sacrifices jointly. Concerns about inflation related to oil uncertainty? Take decisive steps with the things in your control. Good to be prudent and sensible financially.
These 2 eclipses belong to the Saros Series 10 South. This series is all about finding a way through a very difficult situation where little to no hope exists to break the deadlock. There doesn’t appear to be any hope of a positive outcome. The solution may show up suddenly and will need to be taken up without delay.
The Total Solar eclipse on 12 August will be total over parts of Spain. This is always where impact is greatest. Spain and France have been battling massive wildfires these past few weeks. Things don’t look like they will be easing anytime soon. Eclipse in Leo which is a fixed, fire sign and with Mercury and Jupiter close by we can expect the heat and dry weather to continue. Jupiter magnifies which means that it could be extremely hot and dry which adds to fire risk. Mercury indicates it could be very windy especially with close proximity to Jupiter. Mercury and Jupiter opposite Pluto could indicate destructive fires. And with Pluto and Uranus in air signs and Saturn, Neptune and Sun, Moon, Mercury and Jupiter all in fire signs this adds to a picture of extremely hot and dry weather with unpredictable outcomes. Air feeds fire. This could certainly indicate runaway fires with deadly consequences and damage to property.
This is an incredibly powerful Full Moon ahead of eclipse season in August.
Sun and Jupiter Cazimi in Leo – Jupiter has a seat next to the King. The Sun is the ego and associated with leadership. Jupiter is associated with truth and justice. What does Jupiter expand – the ego or the truth? What happens to leaders with big egos?
Sun and Jupiter in Leo are opposed Moon and Pluto in Aquarius. As always Full Moons focus on the opposition between Sun and Moon. But with Jupiter and Pluto in opposition this makes this Full Moon extra powerful. Moon in Aquarius is about ordinary people wanting to live in a society that benefits all. Pluto is connected to letting go and purging. It is associated with death, destruction, decay and war. People have had enough. They need to make fundamentally different choices going forward. Pluto also relates to debt and taxation. Ordinary people are drowning in debt. What needs to change? Could this also speak about the great inequality between those in power with excessive resources and ordinary people with less? What kind of societies emerge with these levels of inequality?
This Full Moon links to outer planets Neptune and Uranus too – this is a profound period of change – creative destruction. Fundamental change in beliefs. We can see it playing out on the battle fields in Ukraine and Iran – the extraordinary war time innovation of cheap drones. Ukraine has been able to dismantle the Russian oil and military infrastructure and destroy their navy and maritime fleet at a fraction of the cost. Iran has closed the Hormuz Strait.
We knew a world where might was right but that looks to be changing with ingenuity and youth. These concepts are being tested on the battle field in real time. Saturn speaks about consequences and Neptune sacrifices.
The extreme fires have caused massive devastation across many parts of Europe and US. Ordinary people have lost everything and will need to rebuild their lives. It is certainly a time of death and rebirth. Leo is a fire sign and Aquarius an air sign. Air feeds fire and this can be incredibly destructive.
Sabian symbols
Sun and Jupiter – The constellations in the sky.
As above so below? Creation in all its glory? What can we create on earth?
Moon – A child born of an eggshell.
Death/rebirth – new cycle starting.
Pluto – A council of ancestors.
Use wisdom from past to rebuild – phoenix rising from ashes?
Uranus – A radical magazine displays a sensational front page.
Truth, knowledge and misinformation – we are seeing more of this with advancing technology and AI. Propaganda and how misinformation gets amplified?
Simply put, this is a very powerful Full Moon in Leo. Jupiter wants growth and truth. Pluto asks us to surrender and let go. It is time to dig deep. What no longer serves you positively? This is a time of fundamental change and growth. This is a process of death and rebirth. Death and decay creates compost that can be used for future growth. How wisely will you use your compost for future growth?
Heat waves. Out of control wild fires. Drought. Glacier melt. Climate changes appear more extreme. The astrology is quite extraordinary. We have all outer planets in fire and air signs. Air feeds fire. Pluto and Uranus in Aquarius and Gemini – both air signs. Saturn, Neptune, Sun and Jupiter in fire signs.
Pluto speaks about destruction. Uranus – unprecedented and unpredictable. Neptune is associated with freak weather events. Saturn is connected to buildings and structures. Jupiter in Leo is magnifying all these issues. The images below show exactly what is unfolding.
