North Node in Aquarius South Node in Leo (true Nodes)
The Nodes return to the same position every 18 years and 6 months. The Saturn Neptune cycle is 36 years. This cycle is twice as long as the Nodal cycle.
Saturn relates to the authority and the physical and institutional structures in society. Neptune is associated with dissolution and sacrifice. Neptune is also connected to oil, gas, insurance, inflation, the oceans and naval fleets. It is also associated with corruption and drugs – recreational and pharmaceutical.
This is a very powerful signature for societal change across the world. The conjunction point is the seed point in the cycle and the opposition the culmination of what started at the seed point.

Saturn Neptune conjunct – Nov 1952 to July 1953 – 21/22 Libra – Stalin ruled from 1924 to when he died in 1953. Putin, Xi Jinping and Ramaphosa all born in this period.
• Saturn Neptune opposition – June 1971 to April 1972 – 0 to 4 Gemini/Sagittarius – energy and oil crisis in 1970’s particularly 1973 Arab/Israel war and 1979 Iran revolution.
Saturn Neptune conjunction – March to Nov 1989 – 10/11 Capricorn – Berlin Wall collapsed and so too communism and Soviet Union. Mass protests led by students and workers were held in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China between April and June 1989.
• Saturn Neptune opposition – Aug 2006 to June 2007 – 17 to 21 Leo/Aquarius – sub prime housing crisis between 2007 and 2010 culminating in the Sep 2008 financial crisis with the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers Investment Bank.
Saturn Neptune conjunction – 20 Feb 2026 – 0 Aries – World Axis
US military captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on 3 Jan 2026.
US/Israel war with Iran started on 28 Feb 2026 and is still ongoing with things escalating to a crisis with the close of the Strait of Hormuz and now Houthis gaining control of the Strait of Bab al-Mandab. This has resulted in major disruptions in oil trade with the resultant shortages and higher petrol prices. Higher fuel prices make everything more expensive and put pressure on inflation.
The conflict in the Middle East continues and so too the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The Special Military Operation started on 24 Feb 2022. This war actually started before then in 2014 when Russia annexed Crimea.
Global alliances are under pressure and new alliances are forming. The world is moving away from a unipolar world to a multipolar world.

Each time the Nodes return to Aquarius/Leo there is a Saturn/Neptune conjunction or opposition. The South Node is seen as more challenging and in Leo it speaks about challenges for leaders and kings. The North Node in Aquarius asks ordinary people to build and create the societies where ordinary citizens thrive. We need to actively take an interest in the physical and intuitional structures necessary for democracy to survive and flourish. It also requires that we take ownership personally and collectively. Don’t wait for a saviour. Be the change yourself.
And as I have indicated before these leaders are all born between 1952 and 1953. They are born with a Saturn/Neptune signature. Dreaming of the idealistic societal structure and system. Eventually it dissolves usually under the weight of lies and corruption and needs to be reimagined. The leadership in South Africa, Russia and China all speak to this theme.

We are certainly navigating a difficult period globally and with the Saturn Neptune conjunction happening on 20 Feb 2026 at 0 Aries – the World Axis – it certainly implies that we will all be impacted in some way. This includes issues of extreme weather – drought and or flooding. Climate change is a real issue too and when food security is compromised people migrate.
The global alliances are under pressure and with US having undergone it’s Pluto Return in 2022 its status as the Superpower post WW2 is being reimagined. A new world order is emerging as certain relationship’s dissolve and new alliances are formed.
