This is a very interesting New Moon at 21 Cancer – 14 July – especially as the outer planets are all at 4 degrees of their respective signs.
Part of Body: Gastric mucosa
Sabian Symbol: A woman awaiting a sailboat.
This New Moon in Cancer is very much connected with the feminine. Moon is naturally associated with women and children and in Cancer food and protection. These are the basic needs of all living beings. The Moon is connected to our emotions and feelings. In Cancer it is about finding your way back home and symbolically this is a journey of the heart. Going inward. Finding a deep sense of belonging within.
Just before this New Moon, Mercury was exactly conjunct the Sun. This positions Mercury cazimi the Sun and gives it a seat next to the King – the Sun. Mercury has been retrograde in Cancer since 29 June and will travel direct again on 23 July in Cancer. This entire period has been about examining our thoughts and feelings around home, safety, family and belonging. What does this mean to each of us? Mercury is in a water sign of feeling and emotions. We have been encouraged to dig deeper and find connection with our thoughts and the heart. Are we truly aligned? Head and heart? The Sun is connected to the ego and the Moon aligns with our heart’s desire. This is a deep calling to find your authentic self, your heart centre.
This New Moon squares Saturn in Aries. It asks some tough questions about our past actions and how they currently align with our new intentions. Saturn wants accountability and the respect of boundaries and understanding personal limitations. It is the planet that helps us say no – that is not my responsibility or yes – I accept that my past actions have harmed others in ways I didn’t anticipate. With Mercury also squared Saturn we need to recognise how our thoughts and words can also cause harm – things we said or did not say. This is why it is so important to find your centre and then it is impossible to blame others for your actions or lack thereof.
Saturn sextiles it’s ruler Mars and Uranus – this can be quite explosive. It supports this notion of taking responsibility for your actions. What lights you up?
Venus in Virgo asks about what truly matters? Relationships with people that matter and our connection to nature and the earth/harvest. Venus connected to Nodes asks us to look at our daily lives. Finding joy in your work and day to day life. How can we be useful to others?
Jupiter is also very important as it will oppose Pluto, trine Neptune and sextile Uranus as all these planets will find themselves at 4 degrees of their signs. This is extraordinarily powerful period in July. A true awakening for humanity.
Jupiter will magnify all these connections. Jupiter is connected to wealth, beliefs and justice. Jupiter is the teacher sharing wisdom. This is an extremely important time. What needs to be purged? What sacrifices are necessary to achieve the ideals we desire? Where have we deceived ourselves? Do you see yourself as a victim or a survivor? Can you take yourself on a healing journey? What new insights emerge?
