Pluto in Aquarius – 23 March 2023

Pluto will shortly conclude its passage in Capricorn and move into Aquarius between March 2023 and Jan 2044. Pluto only spends 3 months in Aquarius this year and then reverts back to the last degrees of Capricorn before moving into Aquarius again in 2024. By the end of 2024 it will spend 20 years in Aquarius. This planet was last in this sign between April 1777 and Dec 1798. The American Revolutionary War took place between April 1775 to September 1783 with US Independence being established on 4 July 1776. The French Revolution was also raging between 5 May 1789 and ended on 9 November 1799. This fundamentally changed French society with the end of the French Monarchy and the beginning of French Democracy. It will be a time of fundamental societal change once again across the world.

Saturn rules Aquarius and this planet is associated with land, agriculture, mining, buildings, structures and institutions in society. Saturn also rules Capricorn but in this sign it speaks more about authority resting with those in charge or at the top. In the sign of Aquarius there is an understanding that creating sustainable societies starts from the bottom up. Each and every citizen needs to take personal and collective responsibility to create a long term viable society with institutions that work for all. This is essentially what democracy is all about – personal and collective responsibility.

Pluto will ensure that those corporations, businesses, governments and institutions not working towards the collective good will need to fundamentally change. The period of Pluto in Capricorn (2008 to 2023) has highlighted the negative impact of excessive power and control from the top down. We have seen global issues of corruption and greed across the public and private sectors. There will be a big push for this to end. We will witness the last fight back from those resisting change over the next 2 years. Time is running out for the corrupt and the greedy. The mood in society is fundamentally shifting. This is an important time for democracies across the world.
