Saturn and Jupiter come together in conjunction every 20 years. This is a dependable, repeatable cycle that we can easily connect with over our lifetimes. Planets move from conjunction to a waxing square, then opposition and finally a waning square before they join again in conjunction. This is just what we see with the Moon each month. This pattern and rhythm will play out over and over depending on which planets we are looking at. Saturn and Jupiter will square approximately 5 years after the conjunction. We are currently at this point in the cycle.
The start of this current cycle began on the 21 December 2020 in Covid times. Saturn and Jupiter not only connected by conjunction, but also with Pluto in a grand conjunction and this was very prominent in November 2020. Saturn speaks about structures and authority and Jupiter growth and expansion. It is these planets that combine to speak about societal order and growth. Saturn is restrictive in nature and Jupiter expansive. Saturn likes order and process and Jupiter growth.
If we compare the previous cycle which started in May 2000 (22 degrees Taurus, fixed earth) and reached the square between December 2005 and October 2006 (Leo, fixed fire) we are now in a similar situation as society.
The current cycle started in December 2020 (0 degrees Aquarius, fixed air) and will reach the square between August 2024 and June 2025. Saturn will be in Pisces – mutable water for the first 2 exact points on 19 Augustand 24 December 2024 and then will end the cycle on 15 June 2025 on 1 degree Aries – cardinal fire. This is an extremely powerful point in the Zodiac on the World Axis – the start point. Cardinal signs are initiating and this is a massive signature of a new cycle emerging.
Where has society come and what needs to change? Saturn likes accountability and wants to produce changes that are long lasting and will withstand the test of time. This is a very significant time globally. Pluto is now at 0 degrees Aquarius and is triggering the conjunction point of Saturn and Jupiter from December 2020. Pluto is powerful and destructive and will destroy the old order especially if it is no longer fit for purpose.
In addition Saturn will be moving towards Neptune and at the end of this Jupiter square Saturn period (June 2025), Saturn will connect exactly with Neptune on 20 February 2026. This last happened in 1989 with the falling of the Berlin Wall. Neptune is the idealist but is also delusional. What needs to collapse? Like in 1989 ordinary people had had enough of the promises of communism and the divide of the wall and wanted a taste of something different. I wonder what will happen this time?
